Dallas officials consider building new elementary school

Dallas School District consultants reviewed a proposal Monday to borrow $16 million, demolish Dallas Elementary School and build a new elementary school on the district's campus. The board did not approve the plan to finance the new building – which would be for grades 3, 4 and 5 – at Monday's meeting.

Shavertown postal employee pleads guilty to stealing over $4K

A Shavertown postal employee accused of stealing thousands from the Dallas Post Office pleaded guilty Monday to a felony count of misappropriating postal funds. Carol Sosik, 55, admitted stealing about $4,600 from the post office between June 2014 and May 2016, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
